Bangkok – A City of Culture and Beauty

Bangkok is the largest urban and primary city of Thailand. The city is known in Thai as Krung Thep Maha Nakhon, meaning a city of angels. Small canals separate the city into small patches of land, passages and bridges, thus earning the name “Venice of the East”. Thousands of backpackers and tourists each year head to Bangkok to experience the local life which is rich in both culture and traditions.

The Grand Palace in Rattanakosin, which is one of the most flocked places by tourists, is home to holy shrines and monuments. This is where you’ll find the sacred temple, Phra Kaew as well as the sacred image of Buddha, Emerald Buddha. The Wat Pho is the world’s largest reclining Buddha image and the traditional Thai massage school. The Wat Arun is known as the Temple of Dawn, one of the picturesque temple that stands over 70 meters high. Weekend attractions include the Lumphini Park, Phra Sumen Fort and other Thai-style houses and museums.

Shopping in Bangkok is amazing! People can shop in the unique floating markets and go through the small canals from the main Chao Phraya River to Damneon Saduak Floating market and Tailing Chan market. They can enjoy a canal trip to see the Royal Barges Museum, the Suwannaram Temple and the Sisudaram Temple and relax in the waterways that serve as a unique transport.

You could also shop at various streets markets and shopping complexes in Siam. And you shouldn’t also miss the biggest market in Bangkok which is the Chatuchak Market.

The exotic taste of various Thai food is also a great way to experience the real Bangkok. Families can also explore the historical Vimanmek mansion, Jim Thomson’s house and museums featuring Thai culture and tradition and be amazed with the natural safari park, the snake farm and the Siam Ocean World, the largest aquarium in Southeast Asia.

After enjoying the city’s lights and attractions, tourists can also enjoy a Yaowarat and Phahurat tour where a day trip can be spent walking in a pleasingly chaotic area of Chinatown packed with market stalls.
